We’ve watched our local communities grow by leaps and bounds in recent years. Western Placer Unified School District (WPUSD) is no exception and they’ve been working to meet the growing needs of these growing communities, parents and students. This has led to the construction of Twelve Bridges High School in Lincoln, CA. The school has a targeted opening date of Fall 2021. The best part for us? Folsom Ready Mix gets to be a part of this exciting project!

Folsom Ready Mix Celebrates 20 Years!

Folsom Ready Mix is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year! Starting in Rancho Cordova with its first location and expanding to Roseville in the mid-2000s, Folsom Ready Mix (FRM) manufactures ready mix concrete at four manufacturing batch plants. Today, two of these plants service Sacramento, Placer and El Dorado Counties, one services the Echo water tertiary treatment facility in Elk Grove, CA and one services the Redding Area from the plant in Anderson, CA. Owners, Scott & Lisa Silva, started the company 20 years ago because Scott wanted to control the delivery of concrete to his own construction jobs.

Folsom Ready Mix Donates Concrete for Eagle Scout Troop #323 Project

Folsom Ready Mix Donates Concrete for Eagle Scout Troop #323 Project

We were recently contacted by a member of Eagle Scout Troop #323 for a concrete donation to complete their Eagle Scout project. We gladly donated concrete to build an L shaped concrete pad at the Orangevale Fair Oaks Food Bank. The plan for this L shaped pad was to place a bike rack on top of it to benefit the food bank by allowing people to place bikes in a designated spot instead of the ground as before. It came out great and we were happy to help.

This informational tour was coordinated by Folsom Ready Mix’s Quality Control Department all in the spirit of educating and promoting the ready-mix industry.  Our goal was to introduce students to the concrete business while offering a description of careers and engineering fields applicable to the industry.
