Folsom Ready Mix Donates Kings Tickets to Pleasant Grove High School
Recently, the Pleasant Grove High School Aggie Backers (Backing the Future of Agriculture) were looking for donors to help raise funds to meet the needs of FFA (Future Farmers of America) students and agriculture instructors in order to create leaders within the school and community. They held their annual dinner and auction at the Elk Grove Pavilion on February 24th, 2018. With 200 guests in attendance the event was a great success. We were happy to be involved and took the opportunity to purchase and then donate a pair of NBA tickets for the Golden State Warriors at the Sacramento Kings.
Folsom Ready Mix Donates to C.A.S.T. for Kids
We are happy to introduce a wonderful organization called C.A.S.T. for Kids for those who are not familiar. This program is one for children with special needs. The events that this organization puts together are designed to create adaptive environments where children, ages 5-17 and their parent or guardian, can share a day of fun fishing on the water that they may not have otherwise been able to experience.
Concrete Donation to Eagle Scout Service Project at Carmichael Park Baseball Field
We are pleased to share the finished project from our donation to the Eagle Scouts this year! We donated concrete to the Eagle Scouts to help them in their efforts at Carmichael Park Baseball Field. Every Boy Scout, Varsity Scout or qualified Venturer in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is required to complete an Eagle Scout Service Project as a requirement to obtain the Eagle Scout rank. These projects are a way to demonstrate leadership of others while completing a project for the benefit of the community. The project is benefiting the community by helping an organization outside of the BSA.
The Benefits of Water Reducers in Concrete
We’ve talked extensively before about how much the characteristics of concrete are influenced by the ratio of water used in the mixture. Reducing the amount of water creates a higher density, and higher quality, cement paste. Water content can’t simply be reduced without taking any other measures. Higher water content is needed so that the concrete can remain workable. If you simply reduce the amount of water, without taking any additional measures, you might end up with a stiffer mixture that you can’t work with very well and that may result in placement problems. This is where water reducers come in.

The donated concrete was used for batting cages and we are honored to have been a part of the process.
