This year’s eighth annual Friends of Folsom Turkey Drive is ramping up to be a great success! The goal is to feed 3,000 local families for Thanksgiving this year. This is a great opportunity to get involved and we were happy to donate money to help reach that goal!
The non-profit organization, Friends of Folsom, is raising money and collecting turkeys this month to help make the goal a possibility. Through donations, silent auctions, community promotion and more we are hopeful that they will be successful.
From the Friends of Folsom website:
A Non-Profit Organization developed to give Friends, Families & Businesses a chance to work together for causes & projects that help our Community! Eight Years ago a group of friends, families and businesses now known as Friends of Folsom began participating in the Sacramento County Food Bank Annual Turkey Drive. The first year, the donation was 200 turkeys. Since that year we have joined hands with more and more small businesses, vendors, customers, members of the community as well as their families and friends to feed close to 9,000 families over the subsequent last 8 years!
They are now challenging local small businesses, such as our own, to see how many families they can help to feed. We have happily obliged and we encourage other small businesses in the area to take the challenge and do the same!
