Folsom Ready Mix Donates Concrete to Stanford Settlement Project in Sacramento

Folsom Ready Mix was pleased to partner with Teichert Construction in donating concrete to the Stanford Settlement project this last year. The Stanford Settlement is a non-profit in Sacramento that offers a variety of critical programs and services to residents of the Gardenland, Northgate, North Sacramento, and Natomas communities. This includes after school groups and summer day camps for children, a Teen Center program for youth, and a comprehensive Senior Center.

The focus of this particular donation and project was to create an outdoor wellness space accessible for all senior visitors and their families. The outdoor areas will offer social spaces for conversation, areas designed for exercise and fitness, gardening, quiet moments, and meditation.

Their goal is to create a safe outdoor area for seniors focusing on a design that allows all to participate regardless of mobility limitations including:

•             ADA Compliant green spaces and walkways with safety rails

•             raised-bed gardens that are accessible while standing

•             an outdoor barbeque and kitchen with senior-friendly seating

•             the removal of dying trees allowing healthy shade trees to flourish
