On February 28th, 2023, the Stanford Settlement project in Sacramento celebrated the completion of their major renovation project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Folsom Ready Mix was pleased to partner with Teichert Construction in donating concrete to the project, which included the creation of an accessible outdoor wellness space for senior visitors and their families.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the end of months of hard work and dedication by everyone involved, including the Leadership Sacramento Class of 2022, who led the year-long project that raised more than $146,000 in funds and donations from generous individuals and organizations in the community.

The renovated outdoor space at the Senior Center offers a welcoming and functional environment for seniors and their families, including social spaces for conversation, areas designed for exercise and fitness, gardening, quiet moments, and meditation. The outdoor area is also designed to accommodate mobility limitations, with ADA compliant green spaces and walkways with safety rails, raised-bed gardens that are accessible while standing, an outdoor barbecue and kitchen with senior-friendly seating, and the removal of dying trees, allowing healthy shade trees to flourish.

We’re proud to have been able to partner in contributing to this important renovation! Projects like these highlight the importance of helping to build stronger, more vibrant communities. The renovated space will provide a welcoming and accessible space for the community to enjoy for years to come.
