What inspires or motivates you? I am inspired / motivated by the desire to be a positive example for my son and ensure that he matures in a stable and nurturing environment.
What was the best concert you ever attended? The best concert I have attended was the “Cinco de Mayo” event of 2010 in Sacramento, not because of the musical talent, but because it was the first concert that my wife and I attended together.
What is your favorite hobby? My top hobby is learning. I love to read, to learn new vocabulary, training to learn new martial art techniques and their ethics, watching documentaries and shadow craftsmen in their line of work to witness the artistry of their craft.
What is your favorite place in the world? My favorite place in the world is where my family is. Seems cheesy, but I adore my wife and son and I try to spend as much time with them as possible. The one place I want to travel is to China. I chose China because my son made me a promise that one day he would be successful enough to take me on a trip to China.
What book would you recommend? The last series of books I read is the “Nightlord” by Garon Whited. I would recommend the book to any avid reader especially those who are fans of the “Harry Potter” series.
What are you passionate about? I am passionate about personal growth. Whether it is in myself or other people. I strongly believe we should strive to be our best and help others in their pursuit to success when possible.
What is your favorite movie? I would consider myself a videophile, it would be difficult to choose one movie as my favorite. I would consider the following to be my top 3: Menace to Society, Batman (with Michael Keaton & Jack Nicholson) and the Mask.
What is the craziest thing you’ve done? The craziest things I’ve done is hike from the California / Nevada border near Lake Tahoe to Jackson, CA. I would do this again in a heartbeat.
What is your favorite part of your job? My favorite part of my role as a quality control tech is the experimentation. Going through trials to refine new mix design.
How long have you been working for Folsom Ready Mix? I have been working for FRM since December of 2014, nearly 5 years.
Where are you from? I am originally from Sacramento, CA.
What is the funniest thing that your pet does? The funniest thing that my pets to is fight for attention from myself or my son.
What is a project you’re currently working on? I am working on a project at my home to build the ultimate hang out / BBQ area.
What is your biggest pet peeve? My only pet peeve is when someone is judgmental or condescending to others because of their beliefs.
What is your best kept secret? I do not have any secrets as in I am hiding a trait or skill from others. One skill that I have that others do not know of is my poetry. I like to write poems or short stories from time to time.
What is your favorite family tradition? My favorite family tradition is eating. The specialty dishes that only come around at specific times of the year. These meals bring everyone together.
What was your favorite TV show growing up? Growing up my favorite shows were Batman the animated series and Dragon Ball Z. The music I listened to was classic country (Mexican) and Rap.
What would you be doing if you weren’t doing your current position? If I were doing something else than my current position, it would be community service and outreach and handyman services.
What is the coolest experience you’ve had? The coolest experience I’ve had was my hike from Lake Tahoe to Jackson, CA.
Anything else? One thing I would like to add is that I believe that each generation of people, families or groups should work hard to ensure that the next generation is better than their predecessors.
